This article provides an overview of available Internet sources and search engines that will allow you to follow the combat path of a soldier or find information about his fate during the Great Patriotic War. Information about the fate of Kazakhstanis is actively studied as part of the project «Natives of Kazakhstan in the Partisan Movement in Belarus during the Great Patriotic war». The National Archives of the Republic of Belarus has opened an information portal on participants in the partisan movement, which makes it possible to search for information about one and a half thousand Kazakhstanis in partisan associations in Belarus. The results of the scientific search are tested in journal publications and materials of scientific conferences of scientists and students. Working with search engine data made it possible to clarify and find the burial place of one of the four Zhuanyshpayev brothers, natives of the Akmola region, buried in the Shapury mass grave in the Vitebsk region. Delegations of the L.N. Gumilev managed to visit the burial site and bring soil to his native village of Enbekshilder district of Akmola region.
