Archives and libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the global digital information space

Abstract

Today, the “digital society” that has emerged at the global level has a significant impact on the prospects for the development of information librarianship and archival science. The role and place of library and archival collections is high in the development of the digital information space. Hence, the importance of creating a network of electronic libraries and archives increases. Today, the activities of electronic libraries and archives are growing due to institutions and organizations in various branches of science and technology. The content of the “electronic document” in the article is comparable to the theories of scientists; one of the main tasks in the context of the updated content of education is to improve the information culture, the importance of digital libraries and archives that contribute to the instilling of learning skills and deepening self-education. As part of the implementation of the state program “Digital Kazakhstan”, the National Academic Library signed international agreements and contracts, the purpose of which is the development of human capital. In the global information space, government documents stipulate that the integration of information resources of Kazakhstan’s libraries and archives with international information networks is aimed at establishing direct information links between the regions of Kazakhstan and foreign countries.
