The article analyzes the issues of the formation of funds of personal origin in archival institutions of Kazakhstan. The author considers the problems of acquisition of documents of personal origin, examination of the value of documents, the formation of cases and the compilation of scientific reference apparatus at the present stage, as well as new promising directions on these aspects.
