Abstract

The article examines external and internal factors affecting the safety of paper documents in the face of modern challenges, such as climate change, man-made disasters and digitalization. Particular attention is paid to methods of protecting and preserving documents. The article also presents the historiography of the study of this problem and the main directions of research.
