Scientific Information Work of the State Archives of the Kursk Region at the Present Stage: Problems and Prospects

Abstract

The article outlines the main results of the archive’s activities from 2020 to the present and highlights key prospects for further development in these areas. One of the most significant areas of activity for the archives of the Russian Federation in recent decades has been the scientific and informational utilization of archival documents. This development is linked to the mass declassification of archival collections in the late 1980s and 1990s, as well as the archivists’ interest in actively introducing documents into scientific and informational circulation. These processes have contributed to the establishment of scientific and informational work systems in many archival institutions, including the State Archive of the Kursk Region, where this system continues to operate successfully today.
