Metric books as a source according to the history of the population of the Karaganda region in the XIX-XX centuries

Abstract

The article presents an analysis of metric books that are in state custody in the state archive of the Karaganda region. Metric books are considered as historical sources that give an idea of the administrative and territorial structure of the region, the history of state institutions, and the composition of the population according to social, professional, and confessional characteristics.
