History of the formation and development of the Issyk-Kul Regional State Archives (1926–2024)

This article presents a detailed analysis of the history of the development of the Issyk-Kul regional state archive, starting from its foundation in 1924 with the creation of the KKAR (Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region). The author traces the key stages and changes that have occurred in the archival system over almost a century. Important events that influenced the functioning of the archive are considered, such as changes in legislation, reforms in the field of archiving and the introduction of new technologies. Attention is also focused on the importance of the archive as a custodian of the historical memory of the region, its role in providing access to documents and information for researchers and citizens. In conclusion, the author emphasizes the importance of preserving archival funds for future generations and the need for further development of archival infrastructure.
