Teaching and learning materials for archivists: foreign practices

The issue of professional training of archival specialists is one of the decisive factors for the effective functioning of the archival industry. Retrospective documentary information stored in archives is part of the national historical and cultural heritage of the state, its strategic resource. Its preservation and transmission to future generations depend on the timely solution of the problem of creating a system of a full educational cycle, and answering the question which specialists will come to the archives tomorrow. The article is devoted to the analysis of educational and methodological literature, which serves as the basis for the systematic acquirement of archival disciplines in a number of foreign countries. The object of the analysis is the models of the archival system and the educational and methodological complexes created within their framework. The models of three directions are taken as a reference point: western (French model), North American (American model) and eastern (Chinese model). The analysis of the development experience of educational and methodological support within the change of the educational paradigm in Kazakhstan is designed to help identify the criteria for rational and successful acquirement of necessary knowledge and competencies by students, will serve as a trigger for the development of modern recommendations for further development of educational and methodological tools of domestic practice.
