Abstract

The article examines the main directions for developing the constructive potential of museums, archives, and libraries under the conditions of globalization and digitalization. The speed and volume of information, with the potential for distortion and revision of historical memory, are considered the main challenges of the information age. Mythologization of history as the memory of different types of communities in the conditions of active information wars “all against all” is going through a stage of active search for new paradigms of historical consciousness. Heritage institutions have the richest complexes of historical, memorial, and narrative information that can form channels of influence on the memory of generations and contribute to the restoration and construction of models of political, national, and personal identity. For museums, archives, and libraries, which have a serious informative resource, new opportunities for integration into the modern agenda as insiders of historical and cultural heritage are opening up.
