Abstract

the article examines questions of restoring the creative legacy of the repressed poet based on documents and library fund of the President’s Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Fragments are published of the penitential letter. The author gives special attention to reconstruction of the fate of the relatives and close people of Magzhan Zhumabaev, who became victims of persecution as a result of this arrest. This information, together with the materials of the archivists of Northern Kazakhstan, published in the first issue of this journal, recreates the tragedy of both the fate and the work of the poet.
