The article, based on archival documents, analyzes the life and work of S. Seifullin – the founder of Soviet Kazakh literature, a public and statesman, and a victim of Stalinist repressions. Considering the significance of the documents preserved in the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the tragic final days of S. Seifullin’s life are examined. The article also explores the tragic fates of Seifullin’s relatives and close associates, including his father, S. Ospanov, and his wife, G. Seifullina. The process of rehabilitation for S. Seifullin and G. Seifullina is documented.
